Why a 'Hopsing'?

On 10 October 2005, Robert Bendtiz (Germany) scored a new expert record of 53.06 on a 172 board at 3.30 3bv/s. This set both his time and his 3bv/s record for expert. As his nickname is 'Hopsing', the term became popular.

Robert actually made his first Hopsing a year earlier on 15 April 2004, when he scored 31.06 on a 54 board.
