"The Guestbook" is the most popular meeting place for minesweeper players. It is part of the Authoritative Minesweeper website. Created in April 2000, it has been part of many important events in the sweeping community. Each year the guestbook is archived and old copies are available for download. Posting here is one way to submit scores to the world ranking.

The most important early guestbook belonged to the Minesweeper Site, run by Brian Chu during 1997-1999. The main competition during this time came from the Unofficial Minesweeper Site and later, the Hall of the Minesweeper and Chez Démineur. The Planete Démineur site started in 2001 with a guestbook, eventually switching to its famous Forum, where it hosted discussions in several languages until its demise in 2007.

The Minesweeper Addicts group was extremely popular from 1999-2005. Since then the IRC minesweeper channel has become a standard way of meeting other addicts.
