Rubix's cube

Post by RonnyDeWinter »

I've just solved a 3x3x3 in 93s (without any skipped layers) and was proud of it........I know most of you can probably do it 3 times faster, so please brag your records here in this topic.

haha...if you only knew how much manu and elmar talk about cubing in the irc chat...

my best time is 40s, i have another 5 sub50s and was able to get sub60s every now and then...avg close to 65s.

unfortunately my 3*3 cube broke and i just ordered new cubes today - another 2 weeks without any speedcubing :?

but then i will have 2*2-5*5 :D

do you use your own algs?

i use my own for f2l (which means i'm very slow there) and then 2lookOLL and 2lookPLL from the fridrich method

I don't know understand any cube terms like OLL LR'U'D etc.etc. I just learned a very easy, 6 steps, beginner method at first and after that figured out myself how i could reduce to number of rotations for each step. Do'nt expect any fancy moves...lol, I don't even hold the cube correctly and rotate layers with my whole hand instead of 1 finger.

:D since today i have 2*2*2, 3*3*3, 4*4*4 and 5*5*5 cubes...

did a few solves on the 2*2 cube: ~45s (but i don't really have some algs - i'm using some of those ronny uses)
the 3*3 speedcube is nice: after more than 1 month without any cubing i'm already almost as fast as before
4*4 is still kinda tough for me, did 1 solve with looking up my 5 algs in a little more than 20min

i do not yet dare to try the 5*5 cube, i want 3-5min on the 4*4 first

I don't have a Rubix cube, but I've solved them online and it usually takes me over a minute... I'd be much faster if I took the time to learn better methods and found my own cube lol.

megaminx is fun too...

got my first one this monday and am already down to 5min 40s (still have to look up 2 algs, but actually i haven't spent any time at all yet to learn them)

anyone else into megaminx?

other puzzles (i also bought square1 and supersquare1 - but i'll leave them untouched untill i'm better at megaminx)

Sorry for the bump...does any one have any tips for memorizing the OLL algs? I have about 20 of them and know 1-look PLL but my OLL takes forever...
And since it seems everyone's posting their scores, I have a 27.37 with sune OLL and I think 3-edge PLL (can't remember).
