minesweeper with windows7 still not fixed

Post by gxnpt »

Sometimes I play minesweeper on my 18 year old old hp-48gx calculator.
Through various versions of Windows have tried to play on my computer, but it has a glitch that remains unfixed.

On the screenshot notice that all of the 2's that border the X'd mine have that mine making them actually 3's rather than 2's.

attempting to include image using the img tag option is just giving It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image. error, still error after resize and crop using photbucket website so putting url of the screenshot below
http://i775.photobucket.com/albums/yy34 ... Image1.jpg
or
http://i775.photobucket.com/albums/yy34 ... 1397338438

thus Microsoft version (as of Windows 7 inclusion) remains unplayable

The X over the spot means that you put a flag where there was actually no mine.

Uhm, I think you're mistaken. There is no mine under the X'd square. That's what the 'X' indicates. That square was flagged and didn't have a mine under it, which is probably also why you died. Also, if you count the mines (excluding the X'd square) you get 99, as you should. I think the biggest bug here is that the 'X' has a confusing image of a mine under it. This doesn't really render it unplayable.

Why play it in the first place though? I can only speak for myself, but anything that keeps useless 'stats' like completion percentage isn't worth my time. I'd much rather just use Arbiter or MSX...
