Highest possible ZiNi and/or HZiNi on Exp (+ Int, Beg)

Post by EWQMinesweeper »

19:31 Cryslon how do you think guys, is exp hzini>255 possible?
19:41 Cryslon also, it's interesting question: how does high hzini boards look like?
19:42 EWQMinesweeper i haven't encountered >160 hzini yet
Some questions to think about: How do patterns with a high ZiNi look like? Are patterns with a high HZiNi much different from them? And finally, what are the highest possible values an Exp board can have?

(screenshot of example boards are appreciated - same as in the max ioe thread ;) )

The highest HZiNi and GZiNi boards I have found for Exp are:

HZiNi = 257
HZiNi = 257
HZiNi = 257
257 hzini.PNG (12.8 KiB) Viewed 5640 times
GZiNi = 218
GZiNi = 218
GZiNi = 218
218 gzini.PNG (12.8 KiB) Viewed 5638 times
I used a combination of brute-force board generation and a basic hillclimbing algorithm. I'm not sure what high (H)ZiNi boards look like because with very dense boards the metrics are very unstable: moving a single mine can potentially change one by 20 or more. However, it seems that in general the worst cases are achieved when the mines are more or less equally spaced, with few or no openings.
NF player. Best scores 1-10-39.
