Authoritative Minesweeper

I'd like a search engine to let you find players by typing their names or nicks. It should link to profiles. It would be useful for example in case you read a post in gb by an unknown player and you want to know his ranking, history , etc. . It would be nice too if in profiles there were player's positions in the rankings (world rank, country rank, etc) with direct links.

I'm not so sure that Bravenet (the company that administers the Guestbook) would want to implement such a system, but I certainly like the idea.

it is not necessary implementing it in the guestbook. It would also be ok elsewhere in the site

That actually sounds like a great idea to me, I'm often not entirely sure who someone actually is when I read a nickname (not on irc enough I guess...)

Yeah, this would definitely be a good idea. There are so many people on the world ranking that it takes a few minutes to find someone if you just know their name. And if you just know their nickname, it can take much longer...
